How to Configure User Account Control (UAC) in Windows Vista



Windows Vista incorporated a security feature called User Account Control (UAC) which can potentially cause the Auto Restoration Assistant to generate a "Run-time error 13 - Type Mismatch" error when attempting to launch for the first time.

Run-time Error 13 - Type Mismatch

Perform the following steps to resolve the issue:

1) Click on the Start button or the Windows flag logo and select Control Panel

2) Select User Accounts under Control Panel menu

3) Select "Turn User Account Control on or off"

Control Panel Menu

4) Uncheck "Use User Account Control (UAC) to help protect your computer" and click OK

5) Reboot computer

Reboot Computer

6) Launch the Auto Restoration Assistant and begin entering first project: 1st Project Tutorial
