How to reinstall the

Auto Restoration Assistant

without losing pre-existing data

Perform the following steps to reinstall the software:

1) Download the latest build of the Auto Restoration Assistant - Ver 3.1.5

2) Create a backup copy of the Demo.mdb or Restore.mdb if product has been activated and store in a location other than the install directory.

3) Goto Add / Remove Programs in the Control Panel and uninstall the Auto Restoration Assistant

4) Goto Administrative Tools in the Control Panel then select Data Sources (ODBC)

5) Under System DSN remove the System Data Source named Restoration

6) Delete the program folder if still exists( C:\Program Files\Restoration Assistant )

7) reinstall the software

8) Launch the software when installation complete

9) Upon the first launch a DSN creation message will appear. Close and reopen the program.

10) Launch the program again and then activate.

11) Click on the "Activate" button and enter the license previously sent with the original order.

12) After activation complete, a confirmation will appear:

13) Perform a search for RESTORE.MDB from the old computer. this is the database file where all previously entered data is stored.

Note: If previous install was not licensed, then the database is name DEMO.MDB.

14) Copy database file into C:\Program Files\Restoration Assistant\Auto and replace the existing database file.

Note: Installation path may be different if custom install choosen.

15) Launch the Auto Restoration Assistant and verify data is present.
